Small Business Marketing: 3 steps to GETTING STARTED
Are you considering starting your own business? Perhaps you want to better establish your Marketing function? Maybe you need to shake up how you approach your Marketing?
Then check out my three-part video series, taking you through the steps to start your Marketing with the best foot forward!
Step 1: Start with a Marketing Strategy
The first video begins at the beginning! It highlights why you should start with a marketing strategy and outlines what could happen if your small business doesn't have one.
I cover what goes into a Marketing strategy, why having one can help you make the right decisions when it comes to marketing opportunities and how it brings clarity to your team for the long term.
It's the foundation for all marketing activity and paramount for any business to determine its purpose and all-important 'why'!
Step 2: Map out your Marketing activity
Once you have a marketing strategy to provide you with a solid foundation for all marketing activities ('your why'), you can work up an overview of your marketing activity through a structured roadmap (the 'how'). It aligns with your business aims and the marketing objectives you detailed in your strategy.
In this second video, I offer a breakdown of what this all means. I outline how a roadmap helps, provide a top-level view of a campaign, and give examples of external and internal activities to consider when planning.
Step 3: CREATE YOUR FIRST MARKETING CAMPAIGN PLAN
With your strategy and roadmap in place, you can consider your first campaign.
In the last of this video series, I explain what a marketing campaign is and how to create a marketing campaign plan - I share the framework I use when crafting marketing campaigns for my clients.
I break everything down to help you consider the information you need to build an effective plan for your first campaign.
Creating a Marketing strategy, roadmap or campaign plan is no mean feat if you have limited resources, time and knowledge. These videos provide a starting point but can’t compete with an experienced helping hand! Get in touch if you need support to get your Marketing function up and running and your campaigns set.
